BAN Ki-moon response to FME

Dear Mr. Sansano,
I would like to thank you for the joint letter dated 16 May 2013, and your recommendations for the post-2015 agenda. I share your views that education is a fundamental right which is essential to the realisation of sustainable development.
I welcome the active engagement of your organization in this process. The commitment and advocacy of all stakeholders are paramount to secure the necessary political will needed to accelerate progress on the Millennium Development Goals and to agree on a new framework to succeed them. Your timely input, along with the  recommendations from other key stakeholders, Will be duly considered as I prepare my report to Member States to be presented at the upcoming special event hosted by the President of the General Assembly on 25 September 2013.

Given the importance that I know you attach to this issue, I invite you to engage further on this matter with my Special Adviser on Post-2015 Development Planning, Assistant Secretary—Genera.l Amina J. Mohammed, who has been tasked with coordinating overall United Nations efforts on this entire agenda.

I count on your strong and continued support.

A similar letter has been sent to the other co-signatories.
Yours sincerely,

BAN Ki-moon

Mr. Albert Sansano
